Iron Curtain Project

The fall of the Berlin Wall on 9 November 1989 sparked numerous riots in Eastern Europe. The world would become a democratic, liberal, rich and happy place. At least, that was what they told us. The Iron Curtain Project is a multidisciplinary concept, producing online stories and offline events. In the coming years, The Iron Curtain Project discusses the often barely processed past, present and future with the younger generation and their parents at Helmstedt-Marienborn, Amsterdam, Prague, Budapest, Tallin and Sofia.
The visual identity features a boundary made from ‘+’ and ‘-‘ signs, to symbolise the former borders between Eastern and Western Europe. The project’s tagline is appropriately called ‘Two sides to every story’.
